Happy Summer Solstice!

June 21, 2010

Hey kids!

It's the first day of summer! It's the summer solstice! It's the day where there is more daylight than any other day of the year! Today the sun rose before 5:30AM and won't go down until after 8:00PM! That's a long day! Today at local noon, the shadows were the shortest they will be here in Tennessee all year. It's definitely a unique day! Notice the photos of the bell tower close to local noon on June 21, the tree's very short shadow from the window of the hotel, and Mrs. Parsons walking at APSU. Wow thy have short shadows, too.

As you might be able to tell from the pictures, I am at Austin Peay University teaching teachers this week. What are you doing? Let us know!

Be cool,
Mr. P
